Kotahitanga has a strong beat and rhythm. Today we listened to the music and experimented with moving our bodies in time. We talked about how we can use music and dance to communicate a message or to tell a story. Our story for the production is Te Ika a Maui - The Fish of Maui. How could we make our bodies move like water? How could we show our audience Maui pulling up the North Island while moving in time to the music? Could we make our movement more dramatic? Could we take movement we have learned through haka, poi and sticks to include Maori culture? We can't wait to try this again.
Looking good Room 3. I loved your dance moves. I wonder if we can use some of those in our production?
